This year is full of wonderful possibilities and I am excited to serve children and their families.
My name is Maria Smith and I teach full day Kindergarten. I taught 1st grade at KCS from 1991-1996. It is a privilege to be back in the classroom working with the children and their families.
I grew up in Cleveland, OH and graduated from Kentucky Christian University in 1990 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Bible. I am married to Danny, who is an associate pastor at Chapel Rock Christian Church, and we have two daughters named Halle and Emilee. For the past 10 years I have been home raising our daughters and started directing the Dance For Joy ballet ministry at Chapel Rock.
I believe every child is valuable. The Lord instills in each one of us a purpose to honor and to glorify Him. Teaching is one way I can live out my calling and direct children to know God and to ultimately find their purpose.
