Success Is Elementary - First through Fourth Grades

Jane Bucy - Elementary Principal Kingsway Christian School exists as a ministry of Kingsway Christian Church to honor Christ by providing an excellent education for students, using a Bible-based curriculum for spiritual, academic, social & physical development.

This is the mission statement of Kingsway Christian School. We use the scripture found in Luke 2:52 to support this mission statement. "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." We feel that within this scripture lies the heart of the existence of our school.

We see the goal of wisdom being developed in the elementary level as we strive to instill in each child a love for learning and knowledge. This can be seen in the curriculum choices we make as teachers, administrators, and parents working together to make the best possible selections for our students. We strive to provide students with those skills basic to their future success-reading, math and language skills both oral and written. We provide a challenging curriculum in a loving, safe environment. It is in the elementary school that many of these subjects are introduced and then built upon in a logical manner so that, in the middle school years, students are able to apply and further develop these skills.

Each child is encouraged to develop in stature as the study of science, health and physical education is presented in an age appropriate manner in a Christian worldview. Scripture is integrated into the study of these subjects so that the student sees God as creator of our world and all that is in it. Athletics are introduced in a limited manner in the elementary grades with additional offerings as students move into the middle school years.

Bible is a large part of the curriculum throughout all grade levels at Kingsway. In the elementary grades, the basic foundation is laid through the study of Bible stories and truths with application to the student's life. Students are encouraged through chapels and classroom projects to reach out to the community and spread the gospel of Christ by serving others.

We strive to instill strong Christian values in our students. These values are taken directly from the Bible as we seek to develop Christian character in each student. Students are encouraged to love one another, be truthful, kind and responsible to list just a few. Our teachers strive to be models of Christian character in their dealings with students. Students are encouraged to grow in favor with man as they treat one another in an appropriate manner. Once again, the foundation is laid in the elementary grades and built upon in the middle school years.

Distinguishing A Successful KCS Student

It takes years to educate a child and prepare them with the quality skills they’ll need for a fruitful and meaningful life, yet, unless these skills are carefully organized, they can easily be confusing. In conjunction with the standards for the State of Indiana, KCS has outlined the following guide to give parents a systematic roadmap for molding a successful and productive education.
